Documents, photographs, letters, scrapbooks, correspondence, biographical material, speeches, artifacts, and subject files documenting the career of Earl L. Butz as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture from 1971-1976.

Scope and Contents This collection contains awards, certifications, and honors documenting the life and achievements in social work and disability access and awareness of Sharon Byrkett. Of most prominence is a hand-written manuscript by Byrkett titled "Understanding My Disability" written in 1983. Other materials in the collection include a journal from 1967, photo albums and scrapbooks depicting events from her personal life and conferences attended, craft items made by Byrkett, and works created and saved...

Scope and Contents

This album contains photographs of the Carrier family, Smith family, Galeener family, and the Everhart family. These are possibly extended family of the Carriers or married names. Pictures depict individuals as well as houses and landscape in Urbana, Illinois, and Pasadena, California. There are several photos of the 1913 Lafayette flood and one of the Purdue tank painted after a scrap.

Scope and Contents The Class of 1915 photo album (1912-1915; 0.10 cubic feet) documents class activities and Greek events of the Class of 1915, including the Tank Scrap and Greek house parties. Photographs of campus scenery and buildings are included (Fowler Hall, Physics Building). Of particular interest may be the documentation of the 1913 flood in the Lafayette area. Correspondence, field notebooks, photo albums, photographs, reports, slides, soil notebooks, and other materials documenting the history, administration, and activities of the College of Agriculture’s Department of Agronomy.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of two photo albums containing 100 press photographs of Amelia Earhart. Many of the photographs include separate papers with detailed press release information such as places, dates, and individuals' names. Many of the photographs are Associated Press and International Newsreel photographs. There are 48 photographs in album one and 52 photographs in album two.

The Arthur H. Fisher papers contain artifacts, certificates, a diploma, photographs, and miscellaneous items from Arthur Fisher's time spent as a Purdue University student. There are some items that Fisher obtained after his tenure as a student, such as alumni loyalty certificates. This collection would be very valuable to anyone interested in student life at Purdue University during the early 20th century or the Purdue Military Band.

The James M. Johnson papers document the career of pilot James Johnson (Jimmy Johnson) and his colleagues in early flight and aviation training. Most of the collection is made up of photographs. There are also newspaper clippings and three pilot's log books. The photographs show Johnson individually, Johnson standing with colleagues, Johnson in or near airplanes, and airplanes individually. Many of the photographs were taken at McCook Field in Dayton, Ohio.

Scope and Contents The Ralph S. Johnson papers document the pioneering aviation career of Ralph S. The Glennard Miller scrapbook contains 24 pages of photographs affixed to black paper documenting student life at Purdue in the late 1910s and early 1920s. Images include campus scenes, student activities, sporting events, military band, and steam engine lab, as well as photographs documenting the incident of Harry Weinshank being run off campus by his classmates for repeatedly impersonating a military officer.
